What are the roles, responsibilities and powers of the BBFC and who funds them? 

Regardless of where they watch or use them, the BBFC is here to assist everyone in the UK in selecting age-appropriate movies, TV shows, and websites.

The BBFC provides age-rating symbols to content and categorizes it according to its target audience. They provide justifications for why they award a certain movie or films a certain age rating. This goal is to promote public input and ensure online safety. 

The BBFC has the authority to: give movies and TV shows an age rating.

Editing involves removing portions of a movie and refusing to categorize some extremely graphic sexual and violent material.

The BBFC is supported by the fees that content creators and distributors pay to have their work rated.

How do the BBFC regulate films in the UK? 

When determining an age rating for a film, the BBFC looks at a number of factors, including racism, drugs, imitable conduct, language, nudity, sex, threat, and violence. 

Additionally, they take into account the general context, theme, tones, and affects.

Write a brief history of the BBFC. 

Since 1912, videotapes and discs have been classified by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), a non-profit organization that is autonomous, non-governmental, and not for profit. More recently, online content has been classified by the BBFC. 

When it was first created in 1921, it went by the name British Board of Film Censorship, but they changed it to "reflect the fact that classification plays a far larger part in the Board's work than censorship" in its mission statement.

15: Suitable only for 15 years and over. 

18: Suitable only for adults. 

R18 (Restricted 18): Restricted to adults (includes pornography).

Zootopia or Zootropolis (2016)

Controversy : Mild threat

Bully - Violence : This includes the film's protagonist, Judy, being threatened by a fox in the opening scene, who then pushes her to the ground and slashes at her face, inflicting a minor damage. The bullying behavior is presented negatively, despite the fact that the scene is upsetting and depicts a situation that some viewers, particularly younger viewers, may relate to. 

Violence : Some frightening scenes in which animals act in a 'savage' manner and pose a threat to other animals with their claws and teeth are also instances of threat. In one scenario, a brave character appears to grip the throat of a more defenseless animal while chasing her.

Drug : A scene where an animal appears to be producing an illicit substance has some innocent references to drug manufacturing and drug-related equipment. It is evident from the account, nevertheless, that neither the chemical is a drug nor does it have any enjoyable effects. Younger audiences are probably not going to understand any potential allusion to drug manufacture in the scene. 

Language : The words "bummer," "moron," "jerk," and "God" are occasionally used in very mildly offensive ways.

In my opinion, it's significant to remember that not everybody concurs with these criticisms. According to some, the movie Zootopia encourages acceptance and tolerance. They can have some stereotypes but I think it reflect the society that we are living nowadays. Zootopia gives hope for kids such as Judy, the small bunny - the prey - become a police officer along the big predator-type animals. Also, I really like the couple Nick and Judy. They are so cute together - not officially but - and they broke the stereotype that the predator and prey can be together. I agree the PG rating for Zootopia.

Joker (2019)

Controversy : 

Violence : Joker contains lots of scene that are bloody violence such as shooting and stabbing, accompanying with injury details. A man is shot in the head in another scene, exposing the man's brain matter, and in one scene, scissors are used to repeatedly stab him in the eye.

Language : There are strong languages usage such as 'fxck' as well as milder terms : 'prick' 'asshole' and 'shit'. 

Nudity and Sex : There are some scenes that shows the images of naked women, probably cuts from pornographic magazines. 

Theme : Joker is mainly about Joker's life, pyschological thriller has mental illness. The dark tone distinguish with a manner of Joker, some viewers find upsetting. The Joker's life is not appropriate for children, whose their mind was not complete in the mental and mindset way. The movie also contains terrible scenes of terrorism and civil upheaval that viewers can find upsetting.

In my opinion, I agree that Joker is 15 rating. For me, as I watched it, Joker has a message such as the world is cruel. I can see that when Joker is a normal stands-up comedian, the people surrounds him - the world - is ignoring him, make fun of him like a fool, and Joker begins to broke down. There is the scene Joker wear his make-up and using his fingers, placing at the both corner of the mouth and tried to smile. Instead, he began to cry, I felt sad for him because the world changed, make him like him - the Joker. There are lots of other factors that rate this movie 15 such as nudity, sex, violence, etc... But I think the most important thing that rate this movie 15+ is the message behind the movie. BBFC don't want to destroy the children mind in this age if they know the message ( there is more probability that they don't understand but still ).
