DAY 1 : Get comfortable making rough cuts
What went well?
- Since I always use natural lighting when filming, there isn't much need to modify the color of each clip because they are all essentially the same brightness.
- The major (initial) note of a music staff emphasizes the transition between separate footage, and cutting follows the beat of the music.
What need to improve?
- The Fusion, Color, and Music tools were not as frequently used by me. It's a rather easy task; all I did was cut and assemble the video and music. I should follow more lessons to improve my editing abilities so that I can make more intricate scenarios or add color layers to clips. meld 3D models with 2D film
- I had no idea how to reserve a clip, trim (split) a clip in half, or delete a music portion without also removing the media on the top layer. As a result, I have looked for information online and approached my media studies teacher for assistance.
- There was too much shaking in the video of the couple running on the field, so it wasn't shot at its best. I would therefore need to figure out a technique to lessen the vibration in the finished MV.
I began segmenting the music video into distinct scenes and locales on Day 2 and began editing the actual rough edits for the finished music video.
DAY 2 ~ 3 : Male bedroom scene
What went well?
- The third video, which shows the camera tilting up into a portrait, was not very well captured. It was unstable and skewed up too quickly, causing any in-between cuts to appear blurry. As a result, I've employed stabilizer assistance to lessen the shaking movements and frame interpolation to modify the retime procedure from frame blend to optical flow.
- I, now, know how to choose the color grades in one clip and copy the attributes to the others to apply different color grades to numerous clips.
What need to improve?
- There are many severe cuts in this sequence. For the Slow Jam R&B genre, this cut editing is not the best. Slow camera movements and fluid cuts are preferred in this genre. I should make this better in my upcoming project. It shouldn't be done that way, however I filmed a lot of shots that were later abandoned while I was filming. When editing, a single, extended shot works best.
- Improved cut-on-beat technique is needed. Cutting seemed to be out of sync with the music, which is a major issue for a music video. I thus downloaded the song's instrumental version so that I could pay close attention to the beat while I edited, which would improve the quality of my cutting-on-beat.
DAY 4 ~ 6 : Museum scene
What went well?
- In the final draft, the frame is more precisely cropped and zoomed in. This is to make sure that the building's symmetrical aesthetic—which was influenced by director Wes Anderson—is the primary focal point and that only our characters are in the frame.
- I created the phrase "April 1st, 2017" using the Keynote program and added type effects to overlay the footage of the museum facade.
What need to improve?
- There are some ripples in the picture as a result of the wobbly foot close-up frame. I tried adjusting frame rates and using the stabilizer tool, but it didn't work at all. Therefore, this error should be fixed during filming by taking a new shot of this sequence.
- When completing cut editing, it can be challenging to locate a mark-in point because of the uneven, hurried tilting of the second-story building.

DAY 7 ~ 8 : Field scene
What went well?
- The third video, which shows the camera tilting up into a portrait, was not very well captured. Any cut in between would cause the image to appear hazy since it was unsteady and angled up too quickly. As a result, I have employed stabilizer assistance to lessen the shaking movements and frame interpolation to modify the retiming method from frame blend to optical flow.
- I now know how to select the color grades in one clip and paste characteristics to the others to apply different color grades to numerous clips.
What need to improve?
- Finding the right hue and tone for this scenario took a lot of time on my part. I spent around three hours filming in the field, from 4 PM to 7 PM, so the natural brightness varies. As a result, it takes longer to evenly expose, blend, and saturate many raw footage.
- In order to avoid making the music video look too monotonous, I have chosen to insert hard cuts between the three segments of them dancing, sitting, and jogging that are featured in the finished product.

DAY 10 : Cafe terrace scene
What went well?
In order to illustrate the male character's memory sequences after she has left, I have discovered a number of film tape videos online that I may utilize as a frame for the outro portion. Next, apply the composite option (multiply) to the effects of the film tapes.
What need to improve?
There is a trembling of language on the medical report because of the time discrepancies. Initially, I believed it was a stabilization issue and had something to do with frame interpolation. Eventually, though, I realized that this clip's shakey frame rate (20 fps as opposed to other clips' 25 fps).
